I know of a wording; if he were to utter that, he would get out (of the fit of anger) (and the wording is): I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed. Thereupon, a person went to him who had heard that from Allah's Apostle ﷺ and said to him: Do you know what Messenger of Allah ﷺ said? He (the Holy Prophet) said: I know of a wording; if he were to say that, (the fit) would be no more (and the words are): I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed. And the person said to him: Do you find me mad?

اسْتَبَّ رَجُلاَنِ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ أَحَدُهُمَا يَغْضَبُ وَيَحْمَرُّ وَجْهُهُ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَوْ قَالَهَا لَذَهَبَ ذَا عَنْهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ فَقَامَ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ رَجُلٌ مِمَّنْ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَتَدْرِي مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ آنِفًا قَالَ إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَوْ قَالَهَا لَذَهَبَ ذَا عَنْهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ أَمَجْنُونًا تَرَانِي

Two men abused each other in front of the Prophet ﷺ while we were sitting with him. One of the two abused his companion furiously and his face became red. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I know a word (sentence) the saying of which will cause him to relax if this man says it. Only if he said, "I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the outcast.' " So they said to that (furious) man, 'Don't you hear what the Prophet ﷺ is saying?" He said, "I am not mad."

البخاري:٦١١٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ صُرَدٍ قَالَ

[Machine] Two men approached the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , and one of them became very angry. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I know a word that, if he says it, his anger will go away. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan." The man said, "Do you think I am crazy?" Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, "And if an evil suggestion comes to you from Satan, then seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing." [Surah Fussilat, verse 36].

الحاكم:٣٦٤٩ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَبُو الْبَخْتَرِيِّ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاكِرٍ ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ صُرَدَ قَالَ

اسْتَبَّ رَجُلَانِ قُرْبَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَاشْتَدَّ غَضَبُ أَحَدِهِمَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَوْ قَالَهَا لَذَهَبَ عَنْهُ الْغَضَبُ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ أَمَجْنُونًا تَرَانِي؟ فَتَلَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ {وَإِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ} [فصلت 36]

adab:1319 – Sulayman ibn Surad said, "Two men abused one another in the presence of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and one of them began to get angry and his face got red. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, looked at him and said, 'I know some words that, if he says them, will remove this from him. They are:

"I seek refuge with Allah from the Accursed Shaytan."' The man went to that man and said, 'Do you know what he said? He said, "I seek refuge with Allah from the Accursed Shaytan."' The man retorted. 'Do you think me mad?'"

الأدب المفرد:١٣١٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الأَعْمَشَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا عَدِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ صُرَدٍ قَالَ
