A person visited his brother in another town and Allah deputed an Angel to wait for him on his way and when he came to him he said: Where do you intend to go? He said: I intend to go to my brother in this town. He said: Have you done any favour to him (the repayment of which you intend to get)? He said: No, excepting this that I love Mm for the sake of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. Thereupon he said: I am a meesenger to you from, Allah: (to inform you) that Allah loves you as you love him (for His sake). (Using translation from Muslim 2567a)

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : A man went to visit his brother in Allah, in another village. Allah assigned an angel to accompany him. When the man passed by the angel, the angel asked him, "Where are you going?" The man replied, "I am going to visit so-and-so." The angel asked, "Is he your relative?" The man replied, "No." The angel then asked, "Do you have any personal favor you want to benefit from him?" The man replied, "No." The angel asked, "Then why are you visiting him?" The man replied, "I love him for the sake of Allah." The angel said, "I am the Messenger of Allah to inform you that He loves you because of your love for Him in him."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man went to visit his brother in another village for the sake of Allah. So Allah ﷻ sent down an angel to watch over him. When he passed by, the angel asked him, 'Where are you going?' He replied, 'I am going to visit so-and-so.' The angel asked, 'Is he a relative?' He replied, 'No.' The angel asked, 'Is there any favor that he owes you?' He replied, 'No.' The angel asked, 'Why then do you visit him?' He replied, 'I love him for the sake of Allah ﷻ.' عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «أَنَّ رَجُلًا زَارَ أَخًا لَهُ فِي قَرْيَةٍ أُخْرَى فَأَرْسَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَدْرَجَتِهِ مَلَكًا فَلَمَّا أَتَى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ أَيْنَ تُرِيدُ؟ قَالَ أَزُورُ أَخًا لِي فِي هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ فقَالَ هَلْ لَهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تَرُبُّهَا؟ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّهُ فِي اللَّهِ قَالَ فَإِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَبَّكَ كَمَا أَحْبَبْتَهُ فِيهِ»  

("خَرَجَ رَجُلٌ يَزُورُ أَخًا لَهُ فِى اللَّه، فأَرصد اللَّه على مَدْرجَتهِ ملَكًا قَالَ: أَين تريد؟ قال: فُلانًا. قَالَ: أَلِقرَابَةٍ؟ قَالَ: لا. قال: فَنِعْمَةٌ له عِنْدَكَ تَرُبُّها؟ قالَ: لَا قال: فِلِمَ تَزُوره؟ قال: إِنِّى أُحِبُّهُ في اللَّه، قال: فإِنِّى رسُولُ اللَّه إِليك؛ إِنَّهُ يُحِبكَ بِحبِّكَ إِيَّاهُ فيه".  

"إِنّ رَجُلًا زَارَ أخًا لَهُ في قرية أُخرى فأرصد اللَّهُ له على مَدْرَجَتِهِ ملكًا، فلَمَّا أتى عليه قال: أَيْنَ تُريدُ؟ قال: أُريد أخًا لى في هذه الْقَرْيَةِ، فقالَ لَهُ: هَلْ لَهَ عليك من نعمة تَربُهَا ؟ قَالَ: لَا غيرَ أَنِّى أحْببتهُ للَّه ! قال فَإِنِّى رسولُ اللَّهِ إِليك بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ قد أَحبِّكَ كما أحْبَبْتَهُ فِيه".
