Messenger of Allah (may peace be him) did not approve of his blood go waste. He paid blood-wit of one hundred camels of Sadaqa.  

مسلم:١٦٦٩g – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا بُشَيْرُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْهُمُ انْطَلَقُوا إِلَى خَيْبَرَ فَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهَا فَوَجَدُوا أَحَدَهُمْ قَتِيلاً وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ وَقَالَ فِيهِ فَكَرِهَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُبْطِلَ دَمَهُ فَوَدَاهُ مِائَةً مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ

[Machine] A group of people from his tribe set out for Khaybar and dispersed upon arrival. They found one of them killed and mentioned the story of dividing spoils. In it, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked his blood being nullified, so he compensated it with a hundred camels as charity.  

البيهقي:١٦١٤٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ زَعَمَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُقَالُ لَهُ سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ أَخْبَرَ

أَنَّ نَفَرًا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ انْطَلَقُوا إِلَى خَيْبَرَ فَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهَا فَوَجَدُوا أَحَدَهُمْ قَتِيلًا فَذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ الْقَسَامَةِ قَالَ فِيهِ كَرِهَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَبْطُلَ دَمُهُ فَوَدَاهُ بِمِائَةٍ مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ
