There is no lack of estimation for you on the part of your husband. So if you desire I can spend a week with you, and if you like I may spend three (nights). and then I will visit you in turn. She said: Spend three (nights).
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ تَزَوَّجَ أَمَّ سَلَمَةَ وَأَصْبَحَتْ عِنْدَهُ قَالَ لَهَا لَيْسَ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ هَوَانٌ إِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ عِنْدَكِ وَإِنْ شِئْتِ ثَلَّثْتُ ثُمَّ دُرْتُ قَالَتْ ثَلِّثْ
Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Hazm from Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Bakr ibn Abd ar- Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham al-Makhzumi from his father that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umm Salama and then spent the night with her, he said to her, "You are not being humbled in your right. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven nights as I stayed seven nights with the others. If you wish, I will stay with you for three nights, and then visit the others in turn." She said, "Stay three nights."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ حِينَ تَزَوَّجَ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ وَأَصْبَحَتْ عِنْدَهُ قَالَ لَهَا لَيْسَ بِكِ عَلَى أَهْلِكِ هَوَانٌ إِنْ شِئْتِ سَبَّعْتُ عِنْدَكِ وَسَبَّعْتُ عِنْدَهُنَّ وَإِنْ شِئْتِ ثَلَّثْتُ عِنْدَكِ وَدُرْتُ فَقَالَتْ ثَلِّثْ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umm Salamah, and when she came to him, he said to her, "There is no blame on you with regard to your family. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days and stay with them for seven days. And if you wish, I will stay with you for three days." Then she said, "Three days." And in another narration of Al-Shafi'i, she said, "Three days, and then stay with them."
