ذِكْرُ السَّبَبِ الَّذِي مِنْ أَجْلِهِ سُمِّيَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ عَتِيقًا

ibnhibban:6864 – Ibrāhīm b. Abū Umayyah al-Ṭarasūsī And ʿUmar b. Saʿīd b. Sinān > Ḥāmid b. Yaḥyá > Sufyān > Ziyād b. Saʿd > ʿĀmir b. ʿAbdullāh b. al-Zubayr from his father

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "You are freed by Allah from the Hellfire." Therefore, he was called "Ateeq" (meaning freed or emancipated).  

ابن حبّان:٦٨٦٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الطَّرَسُوسِيُّ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ اسْمُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ

لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنْتَ عَتِيقُ اللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ» فَسُمِّيَ عَتِيقًا
