ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ بَعْضَ الْفُقَرَاءِ فِي بَعْضِ الْأَحْوَالِ قَدْ يَكُونُونَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ بَعْضِ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ فِي بَعْضِ الْأَحْوَالِ

ibnhibban:681 – Abū Yaʿlá > Ibrāhīm b. Saʿīd al-Jawharī > Abū Usāmah > al-Aʿmash > Sulaymān b. Mushir > Kharashah b. al-Ḥar > Abū Dhar > Baynamā

[Machine] While I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque, he said: "Look at the tallest man in the mosque in your eyes." So I looked and saw a man sitting in a dignified manner, speaking to people. I said, "This man," he said: "Look at the man with the lowest position in the mosque in your eyes." So I looked and saw a poor man in worn-out clothes. I said, "This man," and the Prophet ﷺ said: "This man is better in the sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the whole earth filled with people like him."  

ابن حبّان:٦٨١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحَرِّ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا أَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ إِذْ قَالَ «انْظُرْ أَرْفَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فِي عَيْنَيْكَ» فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ فِي حُلَّةٍ جَالِسٌ يُحَدِّثُ قَوْمًا فَقُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ «انْظُرْ أَوْضَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فِي عَيْنَيْكَ» قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رُوَيْجِلٌ مِسْكِينٌ فِي ثَوْبٍ لَهُ خَلْقٍ قُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَذَا خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ قَرَارِ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَ هَذَا»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Abu Dharr, lift up your gaze and look to the highest person whom you see in the mosque." He said, "So I looked, and I saw a man sitting with an air of pride." He said, "So I said, 'This one?'" He said, "He said, 'O Abu Dharr, lift up your gaze and look to the lowest person whom you see in the mosque.'" He said, "So I looked, and I saw a weak man with good manners." He said, "So I said, 'This one?'" He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I swear by the One in whose hand is my soul, this one is more beloved to Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the closest person to the Earth of this kind.'"  

أحمد:٢١٤٩٣ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ارْفَعْ بَصَرَكَ فَانْظُرْ أَرْفَعَ رَجُلٍ تَرَاهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ جَالِسٌ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ ارْفَعْ بَصَرَكَ فَانْظُرْ أَوْضَعَ رَجُلٍ تَرَاهُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ ضَعِيفٌ عَلَيْهِ أَخْلَاقٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَهَذَا أَفْضَلُ عِنْدَ اللهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ قُرَابِ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلِ هَذَا

الزهد لأحمد:١٤٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَوَافَقَهُ زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ الْحُرِّ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ؓ قَالَ

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ انْظُرْ أَرْفَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ» قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ قَالَ قُلْتُ هَذَا قَالَ «انْظُرْ أَوْضَعَ رَجُلٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ» قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ أَخْلَاقٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَهَذَا خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ﷻ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ مِلْءِ الْأَرْضِ مِثْلَ هَذَا»

"يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ: انْظُرْ إِلَى أَرْفَع رَجُلٍ في الْمَسْجِدِ في عَيْنِكَ؟ قَالَ: فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ حُلَّةٌ، قُلْتُ: هَذَا، قَالَ: انْظُرْ إِلَى أَوْضَعِ رَجُلٍ في الْمَسْجِدِ؟ قَالَ: فَنَظَرْتُ فإِذَا رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ أَخْلاقٌ، قُلْتُ، قَالَ: وَالَّذِى نَفْسِى بِيَدِهِ هَذَا عِنْدَ الله يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ مِلْءِ الأَرْضِ مِثْلَ هَذَا".
