ذِكْرُ الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ فِيهِ ﷺ

ibnhibban:6615Abū ʿArūbah > Zakariyyā b. al-Ḥakam > al-Firyābī > Sufyān > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, asked me on which day the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , passed away. I replied, "On Monday." He said, "I had hoped to die on that day." And indeed, he died on Monday at dusk and was buried during the night.  

ابن حبّان:٦٦١٥أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَنَا الْفِرْيَابِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ قَالَ

لِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قُلْتُ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَمُوتَ فِيهِ فَمَاتَ يَوْمَ الِاثْنَيْنِ عَشِيَّةً وَدُفِنَ لَيْلًا
