ذِكْرُ إِرَادَةِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ الزَّجْرَ عَنْ أَنْ يُسَمِّي أَحَدٌ أَحَدًا بِمَيْمُونٍ

ibnhibban:5842Ibn Qutaybah > Yazīd b. Mawhab > al-Mufaḍḍal b. Faḍālah > Ibn Jurayj > Abū al-Zubayr > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] He heard Jabir Ibn Abdullah say: "The Prophet ﷺ was worried about being called Ma'mun, Barakah, and Afalah, and this is how it was, then he left it."  

ابن حبّان:٥٨٤٢أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «هَمَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَزْجُرَ أَنْ يُسَمَّى مَيْمُونٌ وَبَرَكَةُ وَأَفْلَحُ وَهَذَا النَّحْوُ ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ»
