It was said to Messenger of Allah ﷺ: What is your opinion about the person who has done good deeds and the people praise him? He said: It is glad tidings for a believer (which he has received in this mortal world).  

قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَرَأَيْتَ الرَّجُلَ يَعْمَلُ الْعَمَلَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَيَحْمَدُهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ  

“I said to the Prophet ﷺ: ‘(What do you say about when) a man does a deed for the sake of Allah, and people love him for it?’ He said: ‘That is the immediate glad tidings of the believer.’”  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ يَعْمَلُ الْعَمَلَ لِلَّهِ فَيُحِبُّهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ ذَلِكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ  

[Machine] So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what if a man works for himself and people love him?" He replied, "That is glad tidings for the believer."  

فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الرَّجُلُ يَعْمَلُ لِنَفْسِهِ فَيُحِبُّهُ النَّاسُ؟ قَالَ تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ  

[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, a man does a good deed and people praise him and commend him for it." The Prophet ﷺ said, "That is the quick good news for the believer."  

أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الرَّجُلُ يَعْمَلُ الْعَمَلَ فَيَحْمَدُهُ النَّاسُ عَلَيْهِ وَيُثْنُونَ عَلَيْهِ بِهِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ

[Machine] Abu Dhar said, "O Messenger of Allah, a man works for himself and people love him?" He (the Prophet) said, "That is the glad tidings of a believer."  

أَبُو ذَرٍّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ يَعْمَلُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَيُحِبُّهُ النَّاسُ؟ قَالَ «تِلْكَ عَاجِلُ بُشْرَى الْمُؤْمِنِ»

وذلك أَن أَبا ذرٍّ قال: يا رسول اللَّه الرَّجُلُ يعملُ الخيرَ يَحْمَدُهُ النَّاسُ عليهِ؟ فقال فذكره.
