ذِكْرُ عَدَدِ التَّكْبِيرَاتِ الَّتِي يُكَبِّرُ فِيهَا الْمَرْءُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ

ibnhibban:1765 – al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > Muḥammad b. Khallād al-Bāhilī > Muʿādh b. Hishām from my father > Qatādah > ʿIkrimah

[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "I am amazed by a sheikh who performed the Dhuhr prayer with us and made twenty-two takbeerat (saying 'Allahu Akbar')?" He said, "That is the Sunnah of Abu Al-Qasim (Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him)."  

ابن حبّان:١٧٦٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ «عَجِبْتُ مِنْ شَيْخٍ صَلَّى بِنَا الظُّهْرَ فَكَبَّرَ ثِنْتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً؟ قَالَ تِلْكَ سُنَّةُ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ»

[Machine] I said to Ibn Abbas, "I prayed behind a foolish old man who performed the Dhuhr prayer. He made twenty-two takbirs in it, making takbir when he prostrated and when he lifted his head up from the prostration." Ibn Abbas said to me, "That is not the sunnah of Abi Al-Qasim ﷺ ."
