ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ أَفْضَلَ الصَّلَاةِ مَا طَالَ قُنُوتُهَا

ibnhibban:1758Abū Khalīfah > Muḥammad b. Kathīr al-ʿAbdī > Sufyān al-Thawrī > al-Aʿmash > Abū Sufyān > Jābir

[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which prayer is the best?" He said, "The one with longer prostration."  

ابن حبّان:١٧٥٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الصَّلَاةِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the prayer which was most excellent. He said: That in which the standing is longer. (This hadith is narrated by another chain of transmitters too.) (Using translation from Muslim 756b)
