[Machine] A man said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with these diseases that afflict us?" He replied, "They are expiation for sins." Ubayy ibn Ka'b said, "O Messenger of Allah, even if they are few?" He said, "Yes, even if they are as little as a thorn prick or less." Ubayy then made a vow not to be separated from the pain until he died, so that it would not distract him from performing Hajj, Umrah, or Jihad in the cause of Allah Almighty, nor the obligatory congregational prayers. The Prophet said, "No man's skin was touched by it except that he found its heat until he died."

[Machine] A man said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : "Have you ever seen these diseases that afflict us? What should we do about them?" The Prophet replied, "They are expiation for sins." The man asked, "Even if they are few?" The Prophet said, "Yes, even if it is just a thorn prick or something less." The man then made a supplication that he would not be separated from such illnesses until he dies, so that they would not distract him from performing the pilgrimage, umrah, jihad in the cause of Allah, or obligatory prayers in congregation. As a result, whenever a person touched him, they would find heat until he eventually died.

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about these diseases that afflict us? He said, 'They are expiations.' The person asked, 'What if the disease is as small as a thorn?' The Prophet said, 'Even if it is smaller than that.' The person then prayed for himself, that he would not be afflicted with any illness until he dies, and that it would not distract him from performing Hajj, Umrah, jihad in the way of Allah, or obligatory prayers in congregation. The person then said, 'No person's body is touched by any illness except that they will feel its heat until they die.'"
