[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about cutting the hump of camels and the tails of sheep. He replied, "Whatever is cut from a living creature is considered dead." This narration was reported by Abdel Rahman ibn Mahdi from Sulayman ibn Bilal from Zaid ibn Aslam, through a "mursal" chain. It is also said that it was narrated by Zaid ibn Aslam from Ibn Umar.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ جَبَّاتِ أَسْنِمَةِ الْإِبِلِ وَأَلْيَاتِ الْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ «مَا قُطِعَ مِنْ حَيٍّ فَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ» رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ «مُرْسَلًا» وَقِيلَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
