الحاكم:٦٣٥٢ – فِيمَا حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو سَهْلٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْأَعْمَشَ يَقُولُ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ بْنَ يُوسُفَ يَقُولُ يَا عَجَبَا مِنْ عَبْدِ هُذَيْلٍ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ يَقْرَأُ قُرْآنًا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا رَجَزٌ مِنْ رَجَزِ الْأَعْرَابِ وَاللَّهِ لَوْ أَدْرَكْتُ عَبْدَ هُذَيْلٍ لَضَرَبْتُ عُنُقَهُ «هَذَا بَعْدَ قَتْلِهِ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَتَأَسَّفُ عَلَى مَا فَاتَهُ مِنْ قَتْلِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ مِنَ الْعَبَادِلَةِ

وَلَعْنِ مَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمْ وَخَذَلَهُمْ»
