[Machine] "And as for Hashim Al-Awar, he is the son of Uthba ibn Abu Waqqas who embraced Islam on the day of the conquest of Mecca. He was one-eyed due to an injury sustained during the Battle of Yarmouk. He is the nephew of Saad ibn Abu Waqqas, and he participated in the Battle of Siffin alongside Ali ibn Abi Talib. He was known for his bravery at that time."  

الحاكم:٥٦٩٣حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَطَّةَ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رُسْتَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُقْرِئُ ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ

وَأَمَّا «هَاشِمُ الْأَعْوَرُ فَإِنَّهُ ابْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَسْلَمَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ وَكَانَ أَعْوَرَ فُقِئَتْ عَيْنُهُ يَوْمَ الْيَرْمُوكِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَخِي سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ شَهِدَ صِفِّينَ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَكَانَ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الرَّجَّالَةِ»
