[Machine] "People used to bury their dead in al-Kufah until Khubbab came to them. When he became sick, he said to me, 'My son, bury me at the back (of the graveyard).' If you bury me at the back, it will be said that a man from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has been buried there.' So when Khubbab died, he was buried at the back, and he was the first to be buried there. After that, people started burying their dead at the back."  

كَانَ النَّاسُ يَدْفِنُونَ مَوْتَاهُمْ بِالْكُوفَةِ حَتَّى جَاءَ خَبَّابٌ لَهُمْ فَلَمَّا ثَقُلَ قَالَ لِي يَا بُنَيَّ ادْفِنِّي بِالظُّهْرِ فَإِنَّكَ لَوْ دَفَنْتَنِي بِالظُّهْرِ قِيلَ دُفِنَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ خَبَّابٌ دُفِنَ بِالظُّهْرِ فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَدْفُونٍ دُفِنَ بِالظُّهْرِ فَدَفَنَ النَّاسُ مَوْتَاهُمْ بِالظُّهْرِ
