[Machine] Jabir, and Abbas was a captive of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Badr, and he was only released unwillingly, so he was taken to Medina where Abdullah ibn Ubayy covered him with his shirt. For that reason, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ shrouded him in his own shirt as a reward for what he had done for Abbas.  

الحاكم:٥٤٢٥أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ كَانَ الْعَبَّاسُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَطَلَبَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ ثَوْبًا يَلْبَسُونَهُ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا قَمِيصًا يَصْلُحُ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا قَمِيصَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ فَكَسَوْهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ

جَابِرٌ وَكَانَ الْعَبَّاسُ أَسِيرَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ وَإِنَّمَا أُخْرِجَ كَرْهًا فَحُمِلَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَكَسَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ قَمِيصَهُ فَلِذَلِكَ «كَفَّنَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي قَمِيصِهِ مُكَافَأَةً لِمَا فَعَلَ بِالْعَبَّاسِ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
