ʿUthman ؓ was killed on the eighteenth of Dhul-Hijjah 35 AH, His caliphate lasted twelve years less twelve days. (Using translation from Aḥmad 545)   

الحاكم:٤٥٣١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ

قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ لِاثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ بَقِيَتْ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ سَنَةَ خَمْسٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ وَكَانَتْ خِلَافَتُهُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً
