Marhab greeted and said, 'The sea of Rajz has known that I am Marhab, the complaining hero with tested weapons. When wars begin, they blaze.' Ali then confronted him and said, 'I am the one whom my mother named Haider, like a ferocious lion, with fearful appearance. I will fulfill for you the measure of sand like the weight of thunder.' Marhab struck at him, but Ali split his head and killed him, and the victory was."
«شَهِدْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَيْبَرَ حِينَ بَصَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي عَيْنَيْ عَلِيٍّ فَبَرَأَ فَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ» فَبَرَزَ مَرْحَبٌ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ [البحر الرجز] قَدْ عَلِمَتْ خَيْبَرُ أَنِّي مَرْحَبُ شَاكِي السِّلَاحِ بَطَلٌ مُجَرَّبُ إِذَا الْحُرُوبُ أَقْبَلَتْ تَلَهَّبُ قَالَ فَبَرَزَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ [البحر الرجز] أَنَا الَّذِي سَمَّتْنِي أُمِّي حَيْدَرَهْ كَلَيْثِ غَابَاتٍ كَرِيهِ الْمَنْظَرَهْ أُوَفِّيكُمْ بِالصَّاعِ كَيْلَ السَّنْدَرَهْ قَالَ فَضَرَبَ مَرْحَبًا فَفَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَتَلَهُ وَكَانَ الْفَتْحُ
