[Machine] Abu Talha used to shoot arrows on the day of Uhud, between the Prophet's ﷺ hand and the Prophet's ﷺ back. Abu Talha was a skilled archer, and when he shot, the Prophet ﷺ would raise his head to see where the arrow would land. Abu Talha would lift his chest and say, "O Messenger of Allah, I swear by my father, no arrow will harm you without harming me." Abu Talha would wish to be in front of the Prophet ﷺ and say, "O Messenger of Allah, I am your shield, so command me to do whatever you please."

[Machine] Abu Talhah used to stand in front of the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ would take cover behind him on the day of Uhud. Abu Talhah was an expert archer, and whenever he shot an arrow, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would raise his face to see where the arrow would land. Abu Talhah would then open his chest and say, "This is my father and mother for you, O Messenger of Allah! May no arrow reach you before it reaches me." Abu Talhah would stand in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and say, "I am your shield, O Messenger of Allah. Direct me towards your needs and command me as you please."
