28. Book of Commandments
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah curse the one who bribes and the one who takes a bribe, and the one who walks between them." I only mentioned Umar ibn Abi Salamah and Layth ibn Abi Sulaim in reference to the witnessed incidents, not in reference to the foundations.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is given authority over ten people and he judges among them according to their likes and dislikes, then it will be brought on the Day of Judgment, tied to his neck. If he judges according to what Allah has revealed and does not incline towards bribery or corruption, then Allah will remove it from him on the Day of Judgment. On that day, there will be no burden except for his. But if he judges by something other than what Allah has revealed, and inclines towards bribery and corruption, then his left hand will be tied to his right hand, and he will be thrown into hellfire, and he will not reach its depths for five hundred years." Sa'dan bin Al-Walid Al-Bajaly, the Kufi, reported this, and they did not disagree with him.
[Machine] "That the people of At-Taff (tribe) do not pay Zakah (charity), so Bilal sent a man to inquire about what they say. The man found them criticizing his lineage and so he returned to Bilal and informed him. Bilal then raised his voice and said: 'My father told me on the authority of Abu Musa who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever competes with the people while lacking insight, he has something of it in him.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is pleased with a ruler while being displeasing to his Lord, the Almighty, has abandoned the religion of Allah, Glorified and Exalted." Al-Alaq bin Abi Muslim mentioned this alone, and all the narrators to him are trustworthy. This is found in the last chapter of the book of judgments.
