[Machine] I traveled with my father to Yazid ibn Muawiya in Hawarin after the death of Muawiya to offer our condolences and congratulate him on the caliphate. There was a man in its mosque saying, "Indeed, it is one of the signs of the Hour that the wicked will be elevated, and the good will be lowered. Indeed, it is one of the signs of the Hour that speech will be widespread, and actions will be concealed. Indeed, it is one of the signs of the Hour that the [mathnā] will be recited, and no one will be found has changed it." He was asked, "What is the mathnā?" He replied, "It is what is written from books other than the Quran. So, adhere to the Quran, for with it you are guided, rewarded, and questioned." I did not know who the man was, and I narrated this incident later in Homs. A man from the people said to me, "Do you not know him?" I said, "No." He said, "That was Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him)."
