bukhari:7068 – Muḥammad b. Yūsuf > Sufyān > al-Zubayr b. ʿAdī > Anas b. Mālik

We came to Anas b. Malik and complained about the wrong we were suffering at the hand of al-Hajjaj ˹b. Yusuf˺. He said, "'Be patient until you meet your Lord, for no time will come upon you but the time following it will be worse than it.' I heard that from your Prophet ﷺ."

البخاري:٧٠٦٨ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ

أَتَيْنَا أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ فَشَكَوْنَا إِلَيْهِ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ. فَقَالَ: «اصْبِرُوا, فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ زَمَانٌ إِلاَّ الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُم» سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ نَبِيِّكُمْ ﷺ

"We entered upon Anas bin Malik. We complained to him about what we were experiencing from Al-Hajjaj. So he said: 'There will not be a year, except that the one that is after it will be more evil than it, until you meet your Lord. I heard this from your Prophet ﷺ."'

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.
