The Prophet ﷺ said, "A good dream that comes true is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan, so if anyone of you sees a bad dream, he should seek refuge with Allah from Satan and should spit on the left, for the bad dream will not harm him."  

البخاري:٦٩٨٦ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا لَقِيتُهُ بِالْيَمَامَةِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَالْحُلْمُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا حَلَمَ فَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ مِنْهُ وَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تَضُرُّهُ وَعَنْ أَبِيهِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ

as below. Narrated Abu Qatada: The Prophet ﷺ said, "A good dream is from Allah, and a bad or evil dream is from Satan; so if anyone of you has a bad dream of which he gets afraid, he should spit on his left side and should seek Refuge with Allah from its evil, for then it will not harm him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَالْحُلُمُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا حَلَمَ أَحَدُكُمْ حُلُمًا يَخَافُهُ فَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَلْيَتَعَوَّذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّهَا فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تَضُرُّهُ  

ahmad:22564 – Abū al-Mughīrah And Muḥammad b. Muṣʿab > al-Awzāʿī > Yaḥyá > ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Qatādah from his father

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, the righteous vision is from Allah, and the dream is from Satan. So if one of you sees a dream that frightens him, let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge in Allah from Satan, for it will not harm him."  

أحمد:٢٢٥٦٤ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

الدارمي:٢١٨٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Good dreams are from Allah and nightmares are from Satan. If any of you has a nightmare that frightens him, let him spit on his left side three times and seek refuge in Allah from Satan, for it will not harm him.'"  

الكبرى للنسائي:١٠٦٦٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
