The Prophet ﷺ said, "The effect of an evil eye is a fact." And he prohibited tattooing.  

البخاري:٥٧٤٠ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ وَنَهَى عَنِ الْوَشْمِ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ  

ibnmajah:3506 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr > Muʿāwiyah b. Hishām > ʿAmmār b. Ruzayq > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĪsá > Umayyah b. Hind > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿĀmir b. Rabīʿah from his father

“The evil eye is real.”

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الْعَيْنُ حَقٌّ  

ذِكْرُ الزَّجْرِ عَنِ الْوَشْمِ إِذِ الْفَاعِلُ وَالْمَفْعُولُ بِهِ ذَلِكَ مَلْعُونَانِ

ibnhibban:5503 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman al-Sāmī > Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > Hammām b. Munabbih > Hadhā Mā > Abū Hurayrah Fadhakar Aḥādīth
