The Prophet ﷺ said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly never remain behind any Sariya' (army-unit) setting out in Allah's Cause. By Him in Whose Hands my life is! I would love to be martyred in Allah's Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلاَ أَنَّ رِجَالاً مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لاَ تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي وَلاَ أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Were it not for the fear that it would be difficult for my followers, I would not have remained behind any Sariya, (army-unit) but I don't have riding camels and have no other means of conveyance to carry them on, and it is hard for me that my companions should remain behind me. No doubt I wish I could fight in Allah's Cause and be martyred and come to life again to be martyred and come to life once more."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ وَلَكِنْ لاَ أَجِدُ حَمُولَةً وَلاَ أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَيَشُقُّ عَلَىَّ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي قَاتَلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَقُتِلْتُ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ثُمَّ قُتِلْتُ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah guarantees him who strives in His Cause and whose motivation for going out is nothing but Jihad in His Cause and belief in His Word, that He will admit him into Paradise (if martyred) or bring him back to his dwelling place, whence he has come out, with what he gains of reward and booty."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ إِلاَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَاتِهِ بِأَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ {مَعَ مَا نَالَ} مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is! I would love to be martyred in Allah's Cause and come to life and then get, martyred and then come to life and then get martyred and then get resurrected and then get martyred.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلاَ أَنَّ رِجَالاً يَكْرَهُونَ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي وَلاَ أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah guarantees to the person who carries out Jihad for His Cause and nothing compelled him to go out but the Jihad in His Cause, and belief in His Words, that He will either admit him into Paradise or return him with his reward or the booty he has earned to his residence from where he went out." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah guarantees (the person who carries out Jihad in His Cause and nothing compelled him to go out but Jihad in His Cause and the belief in His Word) that He will either admit him into Paradise (Martyrdom) or return him with reward or booty he has earned to his residence from where he went out."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلاَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَتِهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ بِمَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

Allah has undertaken to provide for one who leaves his home (only) to fight for His cause and to affirm the truth of His word; Allah will either admit him to Paradise or will bring him back home from where he had come out, with his reward and booty.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلاَّ جِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَتِهِ بِأَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, were it not for the fact that there are some believing men who would not feel happy to stay behind (when I go out on a campaign) and I do not have the means to provide them with mounts (so that they cn join me), I would not have stayed behind from any campaign or battle in the cause of Allah. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I wish that I could be killed in the cause of Allah, then brought back to life, then be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed then be brought back to life, then be killed.'"

"Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has guaranteed to the one who strives in His cause, only going out for Jihad in His cause, and believing in His Word, that He will admit him to Paradise, or bring him back to his home from which he emerged, with whatever he has earned of reward, or spoils of war."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ ﷻ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ إِلاَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَتِهِ بِأَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah has guaranteed: 'For the one who goes out in the cause of Allah, and nothing makes him do that except faith in Me, and Jihad in My cause - that He will admit him to Paradise whether he is killed or he dies, or He will return him to his home from which he departed with whatever he has earned of reward or spoils of war.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ انْتَدَبَ اللَّهُ ﷻ لِمَنْ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ إِلاَّ الإِيمَانُ بِي وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِي أَنَّهُ ضَامِنٌ حَتَّى أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِأَيِّهِمَا كَانَ إِمَّا بِقَتْلٍ أَوْ وَفَاةٍ أَوْ أَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ نَالَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

"Were it not that it would be too difficult for my Ummah, I would not have stayed behind from any expedition. But they could not find mounts, and I could not find any mounts for them, and it would be too hard for them to stay behind when I went out. And I wish that I could be killed in the cause of Allah, then brought back to life, then killed, then brought back to life, then killed," three times.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ وَلَكِنْ لاَ يَجِدُونَ حَمُولَةً وَلاَ أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ثُمَّ قُتِلْتُ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ثُمَّ قُتِلْتُ ثَلاَثًا

"I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] say: 'Allah has promised the one who goes out in His cause 'and does not go out except with faith in Me and for Jihad in My cause,' that he is guaranteed to enter Paradise no matter how, either he is killed, or he dies, or he will be brought back to his home from which he departed having acquired whatever he acquired of reward or spoils of war.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ انْتَدَبَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا الْإِيمَانُ بِي وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِي أَنَّهُ ضَامِنٌ حَتَّى أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِأَيِّهِمَا كَانَ إِمَّا بِقَتْلٍ وَإِمَّا وَفَاةٍ أَوْ أَنْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ يَنَالُ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has guaranteed to the one who goes out in His cause, 'and he does not go out for any other purpose except Jihad in My cause and faith in Me, believing in My Messengers, but he is guaranteed that I will admit him to Paradise or I will send him back to his dwelling from which he set out, having acquired whatever he acquired of reward or spoils of war.'"

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَضَمَّنَ اللَّهُ ﷻ لِمَنْ خَرَجَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِي وَإِيمَانٌ بِي وَتَصْدِيقٌ بِرُسُلِي فَهُوَ ضَامِنٌ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ أُرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ نَالَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا جِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Allah has appointed me as a guardian for those who go out in His path, and they do not go out except for jihad in my cause, and belief in me and affirming my message. They are guaranteed by me that they will enter paradise or be returned to the dwelling from which they departed, receiving whatever reward or spoils they have obtained. By the one in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is no word spoken in the cause of Allah, except that it will come on the Day of Judgment in the form it was spoken. Its color will be like blood and its scent will be like musk."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ انْتَدَبَ اللهُ ﷻ لِمَنْ خَرَجَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا جِهَادًا فِي سَبِيلِي وَإِيمَانًا بِي وَتَصْدِيق رَسُولِي فَهُوَ عَلَيَّ ضَامِنٌ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ أُرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ نَائِلًا مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ مَا مِنْ كَلْمٍ يُكْلَمُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ إِلَّا جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَهَيْئَتِهِ يَوْمَ كُلِمَ لَوْنُهُ لَوْنُ دَمٍ وَرِيحُهُ رِيحُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah has guaranteed: 'For the one who goes out in the cause of Allah, and nothing makes him do that except faith in Me, and Jihad in My cause - that He will admit him to Paradise whether he is killed or he dies, or He will return him to his home from which he departed with whatever he has earned of reward or spoils of war.'" قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَضَمَّنَ اللهُ لِمَنْ خَرَجَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا إِيمَانًا بِي وَتَصْدِيقًا بِرُسُلِي أَنْأُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ أُرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ نَائِلًا مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah guarantees for whoever goes out in His cause that He will admit him into Paradise or return him to his home safely, receiving what he earned of reward or booty."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تَضَمَّنَ اللهُ لِمَنْ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ نَائِلًا مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "I had the intention not to miss a military expedition that goes out in the path of Allah, even though I do not have what I can carry with me. And I wish that I am killed in the path of Allah, then revived, and then killed again, and then revived, and then killed again."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَخَلَّفَ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدِي مَاأَحْمِلُهُمْ وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If it were not for the hardship on my Ummah (community) or on the people, I would have loved not to fall behind a secret mission in the cause of Allah. However, I do not find what they carry burdensome on themselves, and they do not find what they bear burdensome on me, so they go forth. I wish to fight in the cause of Allah, then get killed, then be resurrected, then get killed again, then be resurrected again, then get killed again."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي أَوْ عَلَى النَّاسِ لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَخَلَّفَ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ مَا يَتَحَمَّلُونَ عَلَيْهِ فَيَخْرُجُونَ فَوَدِدْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَأُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, were it not for the fact that there are some believing men who would not feel happy to stay behind (when I go out on a campaign) and I do not have the means to provide them with mounts (so that they cn join me), I would not have stayed behind from any campaign or battle in the cause of Allah. By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I wish that I could be killed in the cause of Allah, then brought back to life, then be killed, then be brought back to life, then be killed then be brought back to life, then be killed.'" قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَأُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلَ وَلَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ أَوْ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي أَوْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah guarantees either the Garden or a safe return to his home with whatever he has obtained of reward or booty, for the one who does jihad in His way, if it is solely jihad and trust in his promise that brings him out of his house."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلاَّ الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَاتِهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Abu Salih as-Samman from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Had I not been concerned for my community, I would have liked never to stay behind a raiding party going out in the way of Allah. However, I do not find the means to carry them to it, nor do they find anything on which to ride out and it is grievous for them that they should stay behind me. I would like to fight in the way of Allah and be killed, then brought to life so I could be killed and then brought to life so I could be killed."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ لاَ أَتَخَلَّفَ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنِّي لاَ أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَلاَ يَجِدُونَ مَا يَتَحَمَّلُونَ عَلَيْهِ فَيَخْرُجُونَ وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي فَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ

Allah has undertaken to provide for one who leaves his home (only) to fight for His cause and to affirm the truth of His word; Allah will either admit him to Paradise or will bring him back home from where he had come out, with his reward and booty. (Using translation from Muslim 1876c)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «تَكَفَّلَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَتِهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرِ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If it were not difficult for my Ummah, I would have loved not to be left behind in a secret expedition for the sake of Allah. However, I do not find what I can carry for them, and they do not find what they can bear. It is difficult for them to be left behind after me, and I wish to fight in the cause of Allah, then be killed, then be revived, then be killed, then be revived."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَخَلَّفَ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ مَا يَتَحَمَّلُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي وَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ»

قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يقول والذي نفسي بيده لولا أن رجالا من المسلمين لا تطيب أنفسهم أن يتخلفوا عني ولاَ أجد ما أحملهم عليه ما تخلفت عن سرية تغزو في سبيل الله والذي نفسي بيده لوددت أن أقتل في سبيل الله ثُمَّ أحيا ثُمَّ أقتل ثُمَّ أحيا ثُمَّ أقتل

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ ضمن الله أو تكفل الله وانتدب الله تبارك وتعالى لمن خرج مجاهدا في سبيل الله لا يخرجه إلاَّ الجهاد والإيمان بي وتصديقا برسولي إن توفيته أدخلته الجنة وَإن رددته إلى بيته الذي خرج منه نائلا ما نال من أجر أو غنيمة

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ لولا أن أشق على أمتي ما تخلفت خلف سرية تخرج وَلكن لا أجد ما أحملهم عليه ولاَ يجدون ما يتحملون به ويشق عليهم أن يتخلفوا عني ولوددت أني قتلت في سبيل الله ثُمَّ أحييت ثُمَّ قتلت ثُمَّ أحييت

The Prophet ﷺ said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly never remain behind any Sariya' (army-unit) setting out in Allah's Cause. By Him in Whose Hands my life is! I would love to be martyred in Allah's Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred. (Using translation from Bukhārī 2797)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلَا أَنَّ رِجَالًا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي وَلَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أُحْيَا ثُمَّ أُقْتَلُ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah guarantees him who strives in His Cause and whose motivation for going out is nothing but Jihad in His Cause and belief in His Word, that He will admit him into Paradise (if martyred) or bring him back to his dwelling place, whence he has come out, with what he gains of reward and booty." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3123)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «تَكَفَّلَ اللهُ لِمَنْ جَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ إِلَّا الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ وَتَصْدِيقُ كَلِمَتِهِ بِأَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يَرُدَّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ»

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah has guaranteed: 'For the one who goes out in the cause of Allah, and nothing makes him do that except faith in Me, and Jihad in My cause - that He will admit him to Paradise whether he is killed or he dies, or He will return him to his home from which he departed with whatever he has earned of reward or spoils of war.'" سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «انْتَدَبَ اللهُ لِمَنْ يَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يُخْرِجُهُ إِلَّا الْإِيمَانُ بِي وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِي أَنَّهُ ضَامِنٌ حَتَّى أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ بِأَيِّهِمَا كَانَ إِمَّا بِقَتْلٍ وَإِمَّا بِوَفَاةٍ أَوْ أَرُدُّهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ نَالَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ»

"Were it not that it would be too difficult for my Ummah, I would not have stayed behind from any expedition. But they could not find mounts, and I could not find any mounts for them, and it would be too hard for them to stay behind when I went out. And I wish that I could be killed in the cause of Allah, then brought back to life, then killed, then brought back to life, then killed," three times. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3151)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَمْ أَتَخَلَّفْ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ وَلَكِنْ لَا يَجِدُونَ حَمُولَةً وَلَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيَّ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنِّي وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ثُمَّ قُتِلْتُ ثُمَّ أُحْيِيتُ ثَلَاثًا»

[AI] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "If it were not difficult for my Ummah, I would have loved to never miss out on a secret mission carried out in the cause of Allah. However, I cannot find what I can bear for them, and they cannot find what they can bear for themselves. It burdens them to be left behind after me. If only I could fight in the cause of Allah, be killed, then revived, and be killed again, and revived, and be killed again, and revived."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ لَا أَتَخَلَّفَ عَنْ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَلَا يَجِدُونَ مَا يَتَحَمَّلُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَيَشُقُّ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا بَعْدِي فَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنِّي أُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ ثُمَّ أَحْيَا فَأُقْتَلُ»

[AI] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: "Verily, Allah guarantees that whoever goes out to fight in His cause, not seeking anything but faith in Him and affirming belief in His Messenger, will enter Paradise or be brought back to his home with the rewards or spoils of war that he has gained. By the One in whose hand is my soul, if it was not difficult for my Ummah (nation), I would not have remained behind from every expedition that simulates the path of Allah."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تَضَمَّنَ اللهُ لِمَنْ خَرَجَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لَا يَخْرُجُهُ إِلَّا إِيمَانًا بِهِ وَتَصْدِيقًا بِرَسُولِهِ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يُرْجِعَهُ إِذَا رَجَعَ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ نَائِلًا مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ خِلَافَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The person who participates in (Holy battles) in Allah's cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr). Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah's cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause." "انتدبَ اللهُ ﷻ لمن خرج في سبيله، لا يخرجُه إِلا إِيمانٌ بي وتَصْدِيقٌ بِرُسُلي أَنْ أُرْجعَه بما نَال من أَجْرٍ أَو غَنِيمةٍ. . . أَوْ أُدْخِلَه الجنَّةَ، ولولا أَنْ أُشقَّ على أُمَّتِي مَا قَعَدتُ خَلْف سريَّة، وَلَوَدِدْت. أَنِّي أُقْتَلُ في سبيل الله ثمَّ أُحْيا ثمَّ أُقتل، ثمَّ أُحْيَا. ثمَّ أُقتلُ".

"تَكَفَّلَ اللَّه لِمَنْ جَاهدَ فِى سبيله -لا يُخْرِجُهُ مِنْ بيته إِلا الجهادُ في سبيلِهِ وَتصْدِيقُ كَلِمَاتِهِ- بِأَنْ يُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ يُرْجِعَهُ إِلى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِى خَرَجَ مِنْهُ، مَعَ مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمة".
