I called on Jabir bin ʿAbdullah Al-Ansari and said to him, "Relate to me what you have heard from Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." He said, "I accompanied him on one of the journeys." (Abu ʿAqil said, "I do not know whether that journey was for the purpose of Jihad or ʿUmra.") "When we were returning," Jabir continued, "the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Whoever wants to return earlier to his family, should hurry up.' We set off and I was on a black red tainted camel having no defect, and the people were behind me. While I was in that state the camel stopped suddenly (because of exhaustion). On that the Prophet ﷺ said to me, 'O Jabir, wait!' Then he hit it once with his lash and it started moving on a fast pace. He then said, 'Will you sell the camel?' I replied in the affirmative when we reached Medina, and the Prophet ﷺ went to the Mosque along with his companions. I, too, went to him after tying the camel on the pavement at the Mosque gate. Then I said to him, 'This is your camel.' He came out and started examining the camel and saying, 'The camel is ours.' Then the Prophet ﷺ sent some Awaq (i.e. an amount) of gold saying, 'Give it to Jabir.' Then he asked, 'Have you taken the full price (of the camel)?' I replied in the affirmative. He said, 'Both the price and the camel are for you.' ''

[Machine] "I traveled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in some of his journeys, and I considered him to be a warrior. When we approached a caravan, he said, 'Whoever wants to hasten, let him do so.' I was riding a camel named "Armak" which had no equal among the soldiers, so I rushed towards it. But as I did, the people behind me caught up with me. While I was still in that state, my camel stood up and refused to move. Then I heard the voice of the Prophet ﷺ saying, 'What is the matter with your camel, O Jabir?' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not know what has happened to it.' He said, 'Hold on and give me the whip.' So I gave him the whip, and he struck the camel with a blow, after which it ran away with me, leaving all the other camels behind. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me, at that moment, 'O Jabir, will you follow me with your camel?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Go ahead to the city.' So I went ahead to the city, and he entered the mosque. I tied my camel and said, 'This is your camel, O Messenger of Allah.' He came out and began circling the mosque with it, saying, 'What a good camel my camel is.' Then he said, 'O so-and-so, go and bring me some golden vessels.' He said, 'Give them to Jabir.' So I took them, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Have you received the price?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Then the price is yours, and the camel is yours, or the camel is yours and the price is yours.'"
