4. Wudūʾ (Minor Ablution)

٤۔ كتاب الوضوء

4.75 It is unlawful to perform ablution with Nabidh (water in which dates or grapes etc, are soaked and is not yet fermented) or with any other intoxicant

٤۔٧٥ باب لاَ يَجُوزُ الْوُضُوءُ بِالنَّبِيذِ وَلاَ الْمُسْكِرِ

[Machine] And Al-Hasan and Abu Al-'Aaliyah detested it. Ata' said: "Tayammum is more beloved to me than ablution with wine and milk."

وَكَرِهَهُ الْحَسَنُ وَأَبُو الْعَالِيَةِ. وَقَالَ عَطَاءٌ التَّيَمُّمُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنَ الْوُضُوءِ بِالنَّبِيذِ وَاللَّبَنِ.

bukhari:242ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh > Sufyān > al-Zuhrī > Abū Salamah > ʿĀʾishah

The Prophet ﷺ said, "All drinks that produce intoxication are Haram (forbidden to drink).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُلُّ شَرَابٍ أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ
