The merit of fasting and prayer after a martyrdom
[AI] Two men were brothers to one another. One of them was martyred, and the second remained for a year after the one who had been martyred. Talhah said: I saw the other of the two men enter Paradise before the one who had been martyred, so I told the people about that, and it reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: "Did he not fast Ramadan after him and pray six thousand and one hundred rak‘ahs after him?" meaning the Sunnah prayer.
Abu Bakr said: This hadith has been narrated by more than one person from Muhammad ibn Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Talhah ibn Ubaydullah. Muhammad ibn Ibrahim also narrated it from Abu Salamah, from Talhah. We mentioned it from Ziyad because he connected it, narrating it from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, from Talhah ibn Ubaydullah, may Allah have mercy on him; and more than one person followed Ziyad in his narration.
