فَقَالَ وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ ولاَ مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَنْ يكون لهم الخيرة من أمرهم وَإِنَّمَا ذَكَرْنَا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ لأَنَّ مَعْنَاهُ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ
It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should ˹thereafter˺ have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.
وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ ۗ وَمَنْ يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَالًا مُبِينًا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only prohibited using a ladder. Ibn Abbas said that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited praying after Asr, so we do not know whether we will be punished or rewarded, because Allah the Almighty said, "It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair."
إِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْهُمَا أَنْ تُتَّخَذَ سُلَّمًا قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّهُ قَدْ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةٍ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ فَلَا نَدْرِي أَتُعَذَّبُ عَلَيْهِمَا أَمْ تُؤْجَرُ؛ لِأَنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَى قَالَ {مَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَمْرًا أَنْ تَكُونَ لَهُمُ الْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ}
