This hadith has been narrated by more than one narrator from Asim, from Zirr, from Abdullah ibn Masud. The highest-ranking of those who narrated it from Asim is al-Amash, and we do not know of anyone who narrated it from al-Amash except Yahya ibn Said al-Umawi.

البزّار:٤٢٤ – حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُفَرِّجٍ إِجَازَةً قَالَ نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ إِجَازَةً قَالَ نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ الْخَالِقِ الْبَزَّارُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ قَالَ نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ قَالَ لَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَقْرَءُوا كَمَا عَلِمْتُمْ.

وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ قَدْ رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَأَعْلَى مَنْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَعْمَشُ، وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ إِلَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ.
