Correcting an incomplete ablution

bazzar:236Salamah b. Shabīb > al-Ḥasan b. Muḥammad b. Aʿyan > Maʿqil > Abū al-Zubayr > Jābir > ʿUmar

[AI] A man performed ablution for the noon prayer and left a spot the size of a fingernail on his foot that the water had not reached. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him and said: "Go back and perform your ablution properly." So he went back, performed ablution, and prayed.

Abu Bakr said: We do not know of anyone who narrated this hadith with a connected chain from Umar except through this route. Al-A'mash narrated it from Abu Sufyan, from Umar, as a mawquf report.
