“Indeed, Allah, is Hayy, Generous, when a man raises his hands to Him, He feels too shy to return them to him empty and rejected.”
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : Verily, Allah is bashful and generous. When a man raises his hands to Him, He feels shy to return them empty handed. Jafar ibn Maymun quoted it in this manner, and Sulayman al-Taymi quoted it from Abu Uthman, according to one of the two narrations from him. The hadith in its entirety is about supplication, except that a number of companions raised their hands during the Qunut, as we have heard it from Anas ibn Malik quoting the Prophet ﷺ .
“Indeed, Allah, is Hayy, Generous, when a man raises his hands to Him, He feels too shy to return them to him empty and rejected.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3556)
