[Machine] I heard Umar ibn Al-Khattab saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give me gifts, and I would say to him, 'Give it to someone more deserving than me.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Take it, for what has come to you of this wealth while you are not asking for it or seeking it. So take it and do not let your soul follow it.'"

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give me something but I would say to him, "would you give it to a poorer and more needy one than l?" The Prophet ﷺ said to me, "Take it. If you are given something from this property, without asking for it or having greed for it take it; and if not given, do not run for it."  

البخاري:١٤٧٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ؓ قَالَ

I have heard 'Umar saying, "The Prophet ﷺ used to give me some money (grant) and I would say (to him), 'Give it to a more needy one than me.' Once he gave me some money and I said, 'Give it to a more needy one than me.' The Prophet ﷺ said (to me), 'Take it and keep it in your possession and then give it in charity. Take whatever comes to you of this money while you are not keen to have it and not asking for it; take it, but you should not seek to have what you are not given. ' "

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave me a gift, but I said: Give it to one who needs it more than I. He gave me wealth for the second time but I said: Give it to one who needs it more than I. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Take out of this wealth which comes to you without your being avaricious and without begging, but in other circumstance's do not let your heart hanker after it.

Messenger of Allah, give it to one who needs it more than I. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Take it; either keep it with you or give it as a charity, and whatever comes to you in the form of this type of wealth, without your being avaricious or begging for it, accept it, but in other circumstances do not let your heart hanker after it. And it was on account of this that Ibn 'Umar never begged anything from anyone, nor refused anything given to him.

"I heard 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, say: The Prophet used to give me payment and I would say: Give it to someone who is more, in need of it than I am, until one day he gave me some money and I said to him: Give it to someone who is more in need of it than I am. He said: Take it and keep it or give it in charity. Whatever comes to you of this wealth when you are not hoping for it and not asking for it, take it, and whatever does not, then do not wish for it. "'  

النسائي:٢٦٠٨أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ

[Machine] I heard Umar ibn al-Khattab saying that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, used to give me gifts. So, I would say to him, "Give it to someone who is poorer than me." Then the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Take it, for what Allah has given you of this wealth, and you are not asking for it nor begging.
