[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that the upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the one that gives in charity, while the lower hand is the one that begs for assistance.  

البيهقي:٧٨٨٠ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْعَطَّارُ صَاحِبُ الْحَكِيمِيِّ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ ثنا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا الْيَدُ الْمُنْفِقَةُ وَالْيَدُ السُّفْلَى الْيَدُ السَّائِلَةُ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَارِمٍ وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ فَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ الْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا الْمُتَعَفِّفَةُ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ الْمُتَعَفِّفَةُ
