[Machine] Saeed Al-Khudri and Abu Hurairah reported that they both heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "No affliction, hardship, illness, or sorrow befalls a believer, even if it is the pricking of a thorn, except that Allah expiates his sins through it."

البيهقي:٦٥٣٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي عَلِيِّ بْنِ السَّقَّا الْإِسْفَرَايِينِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْأَصَمُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحَارِثِيُّ ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ أَبِي

سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا يُصِيبُ الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنْ نَصَبٍ وَلَا وَصَبٍ وَلَا سَقَمٍ وَلَا حَزَنٍ حَتَّى الْهَمُّ يُهِمُّهُ إِلَّا كَفَّرَ اللهُ بِهِ مِنْ سَيِّئَاتِهِ

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ وَأَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو
