[Machine] "Al-Miqdam, O Mu'awiyah, if I am telling the truth, then believe me, and if I am lying, then refute me." He said, "Okay, I will." He said, "I swear to you by Allah, did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid wearing gold?" He said, "Yes." He said, "I swear to you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing silk?" He said, "Yes." He said, "I swear to you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing the skins of wild animals and riding on them?" He said, "Yes."  

البيهقي:٦١٠٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا بَقِيَّةُ عَنْ بَحِيرٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ قَالَ وَفَدَ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنُ مَعْدِي كَرِبَ عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَذَكَرَ قِصَّتَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ

الْمِقْدَامُ يَا مُعَاوِيَةُ ‍‍‍ إِنْ أَنَا صَدَقْتُ فَصَدِّقْنِي وَإِنْ أَنَا كَذَبْتُ فَكَذِّبْنِي قَالَ فَافْعَلْ قَالَ فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللهِ هَلْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللهِ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَنْشُدُكَ بِاللهِ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لُبْسِ جُلُودِ السِّبَاعِ وَالرُّكُوبِ عَلَيْهَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
