[Machine] I wore it in front of someone who is better than you. This indicates its permissibility outside of war, and the conversation is disconnected.  

البيهقي:٦٠٧٩ – وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ أنبأ أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى الْبِرْتِيُّ ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَمِيصٌ مِنْ حَرِيرٍ يَلْبَسُهُ تَحْتَ ثِيَابِهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ ؓ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ

لَبِسْتُهُ عِنْدَ مَنْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكَ ظَاهِرُ هَذَا يَدُلُّ عَلَى جَوَازِهِ فِي غَيْرِ الْحَرْبِ وَالْحَدِيثُ مُنْقَطِعٌ
