I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Let the bedouin not gain upper hand over you in regard to the name of your prayer. See I (The night prayer should be called) 'Isya' (and the bedouins call it Atama (because) they milk their camels late.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلاَتِكُمْ أَلاَ إِنَّهَا الْعِشَاءُ وَهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ بِالإِبِلِ

The desert Arabs may not dominate you in respect of the name of your prayer. Beware! It is al-ʿIsha, but they milk their camels when it is fairly dark.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلاَتِكُمْ أَلاَ وَإِنَّهَا الْعِشَاءُ وَلَكِنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ بِالإِبِلِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not let the Bedouin make you change the name of this prayer of yours, for they delay the prayer until it is very dark because of their preoccupation with camels and milking them. Verily, it is 'Isha'.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلاَتِكُمْ هَذِهِ فَإِنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ عَلَى الإِبِلِ وَإِنَّهَا الْعِشَاءُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Do not let the Bedouin make you change the name of your prayer. It is the 'Isha', and they bring their camels in and milk them at nightfall.'"

The Prophet said: "Do not let the Bedouins make you change the name of your prayer." Ibn Harmalah added: "Rather it is the 'Isha', but they say the 'Atamah because they bring their camels in for milking at that time (when it is dark)."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلاَتِكُمْ زَادَ ابْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ الْعِشَاءُ وَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُونَ الْعَتَمَةُ لإِعْتَامِهِمْ بِالإِبِلِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ إِنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ عَلَى الْإِبِلِ إِنَّهَا صَلَاةُ الْعِشَاءِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not let the Bedouin make you change the name of this prayer of yours, for they delay the prayer until it is very dark because of their preoccupation with camels and milking them. Verily, it is 'Isha'.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 541)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ هَذِهِ فَإِنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ عَلَى الْإِبِلِ وَإِنَّهَا الْعِشَاءُ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not let the Bedouins surpass you in the name of your prayer, which is the 'Isha' prayer, except that they cover themselves with camels."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ هِيَ الْعِشَاءُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ بِالْإِبِلِ

[AI] Because the Prophet would have people come to him every Saturday.

لِأَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْتِيهِ كُلَّ سَبْتٍ

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ prohibited temporary marriage.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ نِكَاحِ الْمُتْعَةِ

"أَلَا لَا تغلِبنَّكُمْ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسم صلاتِكُمْ إِنَّهَا العِشاءُ وهُم يُعتِمُون بالإِبِلِ".

"لا تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلاتِكُمْ، فَإنَّما هِيَ الْعِشَاءُ، وَإنَّما يَقُولُون: الْعَتَمةُ لإِعْتَامِهِم بالإِبِلِ".
