The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When any one of you leads people in prayer, he must shorten it for among them are the weak, the infirm and those who have business to attend. (Using translation from Muslim 467c)   

البيهقي:٥٢٦٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ثنا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمُ النَّاسَ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِي النَّاسِ الضَّعِيفَ وَالسَّقِيمَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ  

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ حَرْمَلَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى
