[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you leads the prayer for the people, let him make it lightened, for amongst them there may be the weak and the elderly, as well as those in need."  

البيهقي:٥٢٦٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَسَنِ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ قَالَا ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ لِلنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ  

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ وَرَوَاهُ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you lead people in the prayer, make it short, because there are among them some people who are weak, ill and old. But when you pray on your own, make it as long as you wish."  

مالك:٨-١٤ – حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيُخَفِّفْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَالسَّقِيمَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَإِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ فَلْيُطَوِّلْ مَا شَاءَ
