[Machine] Between him and the mosque was a pool of water and mud. He took off his shoes and trousers. I said, "Give them to me, O commander of the faithful, and I will carry them for you." He said, "No." He walked through and then put on his trousers and shoes. Then he prayed with the people without washing his feet. Muadh bin al-Ala' is the cousin of Ammar Abu Ghassan. It was narrated from another face from Ali, and from Aswad, Alqamah, Saeed bin Musayyib, Mujahid, and a group of the Tabi'in in its meaning.  

البيهقي:٤٢٦٩أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ هِشَامٌ وَهُوَ أَخُو أَبِي عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ أَقْبَلْتُ مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ وَهُوَ مَاشٍ قَالَ

فَحَالَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْمَسْجِدِ حَوْضٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَطِينٍ فَخَلَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ وَسَرَاوِيلَهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ هَاتِ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَحْمِلُهُ عَنْكَ قَالَ لَا فَخَاضَ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَ لَبِسَ سَرَاوِيلَهُ وَنَعْلَيْهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ وَلَمْ يَغْسِلْ رِجْلَيْهِ مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ هُوَ ابْنُ عَمَّارٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ وَرُوِيَ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَرُوِّينَا عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ وَعَلْقَمَةَ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَمُجَاهِدٍ وَجِمَاعَةٍ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ فِي مَعْنَاهُ

"عَنْ مُعَاذِ بنِ الْعَلَاءِ وَهُوَ أَخُو أَبِى عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ أَبيه، عَنْ جَدِّه قَالَ: أَقْبَلتُ مَعَ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِى طَالِبٍ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ وَهُوَ مَاشٍ فَحَالَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْمسجِدِ حَوْضٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ وَطِينٍ فَخَلَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ وَسَرَاوِيَلهُ فَخَاضَ، فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَ لَبِسَ السَّرَاوِيَل وَنَعْلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ وَلَمْ يَغْسِلْ رِجْلَيْهِ ".
