[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prostrated in the Night of Ascension, and all the people prostrated with him except for two men who wanted to be seen. Imam Shafi'i said, "These two men never left any obligatory prayer unless the Prophet ﷺ ordered them to repeat it." As for the narration of Zaid, Allah knows best that Zaid did not prostrate even though he was reciting. The Prophet ﷺ did not prostrate either, and it was not obligatory, so the Prophet ﷺ did not command him to. The argument was based on what had been reported from the Prophet ﷺ regarding the obligation of the five daily prayers. The man asked, "Do I have any other obligation besides them?" He (the Prophet, pbuh) said, "No, unless you want to perform voluntary prayers."
