[Machine] I heard a man asking the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Should one of us pray in a single garment?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Are both of your garments clean?" Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated, "I used to leave my cloak on the peg and pray while covered with a blanket."  

البيهقي:٣٢٧٨ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْمَوَيْهِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ بِالْأَهْوَازِ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْقَلَانِسِيُّ ثنا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا يَسْأَلُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُصَلِّي أَحَدُنَا فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوَلِكُلِّكُمْ ثَوْبَانِ؟ فَكَانَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَتْرُكُ رِدَائِي عَلَى الْمِشْجَبِ وَأُصَلِّي مُلْتَحِفًا  

أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ اللَّيْثِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ دُونَ فِعْلِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ وَرَوَاهُ أَيْضًا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ؓ
