[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ taught me the Tashahhud, which he mentioned to his servant and messenger. Abdullah bin Mas'ud said, "When you have finished your prayer, if you wish, remain seated, and if you wish, leave." The Sheikh said, may Allah have mercy on him, "And this statement, 'When you have finished your prayer,' if it is preserved, is similar to what we have narrated from Abdullah bin Mas'ud regarding the end of the prayer with the Tasleem, and what we have narrated from him from the Prophet ﷺ regarding the Tasleem, as if he intended to refute those who claimed that it is not permissible for the follower to leave after finishing the prayer before the Imam leaves. And if the first statement is proven from the Prophet ﷺ , it is known that the Prophet's teaching of Abdullah bin Mas'ud the Tashahhud in the prayer was at the beginning of what was legislated for Tashahhud, and then after that, the prayer was legislated upon the Prophet ﷺ based on their saying, 'We have greeted you with peace, so how should the prayer be upon you?' Then the Tasleem was legislated in the prayer with him or after him, so the matter is referring to him, and Allah knows best. And the one who affirms this..."  

البيهقي:٢٩٦٨أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصَفَّى ثنا بَقِيَّةُ ثنا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْحُرِّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

عَلَّمَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ التَّشَهُّدَ فَذَكَرَهُ إِلَى عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ فَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَاثْبُتْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَانْصَرِفْ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ وَهَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةُ فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ إِنْ كَانَتْ مَحْفُوظَةً أَشْبَهُ بِمَا رُوِّينَا عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فِي انْقِضَاءِ الصَّلَاةِ بِالتَّسْلِيمِ وَبِمَا سَنَرْوِيهِ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي التَّسْلِيمِ وَكَأَنَّهُ أَرَادَ خِلَافَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَجُوزُ لِلْمَأْمُومِ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ بَعْدَ الْفَرَاغِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ انْصِرَافِ الْإِمَامِ وَإِنْ كَانَتِ اللَّفْظَةُ الْأُولَى ثَابِتَةً عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَمَعْلُومٌ أَنَّ تَعْلِيمَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ تَشَهُّدَ الصَّلَاةِ كَانَ فِي ابْتِدَاءِ مَا شُرِعَ التَّشَهُّدُ ثُمَّ كَانَ بَعْدَهُ شُرِعَتِ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِدَلِيلِ قَوْلِهِمْ قَدْ عَرَفْنَا السَّلَامَ عَلَيْكَ فَكَيْفَ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْكَ ثُمَّ شُرِعَ التَّسْلِيمُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ مَعَهُ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ فَصَارَ الْأَمْرُ إِلَيْهِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ وَالَّذِي يُؤَكِّدُ هَذَا
