[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to look to his right and left during his prayer and he would not turn his neck back like this behind his back.  

البيهقي:٢٢٥١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ الزَّرْجَاهِيُّ ثنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ التَّمِيمِيُّ أنبأ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الْأَبْهَرِيُّ الصُّوفِيُّ بِهَمْدَانَ ثنا جَبْرَائِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بِهَمْدَانَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيْوَيْهَ ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى السِّينَانِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَلْحَظُ فِي صَلَاتِهِ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا وَلَا يَلْوِي عُنُقَهُ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ هَكَذَا  

رَوَاهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَخَالَفَهُ غَيْرُهُ وَرَوَاهُ مُنْقَطِعًا

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَلْحَظُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالاً وَلاَ يَلْوِي عُنُقَهُ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ وَقَدْ خَالَفَ وَكِيعٌ الْفَضْلَ بْنَ مُوسَى فِي رِوَايَتِهِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to turn to his right and left when praying, but he did not twist his neck to look behind him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1201)
