[Machine] Shurayh used to rule in favor of the slave when the free woman he married bore children for him, in terms of the loyalty to their mother. It was said to him, "Indeed, Umar decreed that when the father is freed, the loyalty should be severed." So Shurayh left that.  

البيهقي:٢١٥٢٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أنبأ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنبأ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ وَبَرَةَ قَالَ

كَانَ شُرَيْحٌ يَقْضِي فِي الْعَبْدِ إِذَا تَزَوَّجَ الْحُرَّةَ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ أَوْلَادًا أَنَّ الْوَلَاءَ لِأُمِّهِمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّ عُمَرَ ؓ قَضَى أَنَّ الْأَبَ إِذَا أُعْتِقَ جَرَّ الْوَلَاءَ فَتَرَكَ شُرَيْحٌ ذَلِكَ
