[Machine] "Because spending a day in which justice and fairness are achieved is more beloved to me than participating in a battle for a year or even a hundred days. This was said by Al-Hajjaj ibn Arta'ah when he was summoned by Ibn Mas'ud, and it is only narrated from Masruq."  

البيهقي:٢٠١٧١أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ثنا مَعْمَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الرَّقِّيُّ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ بْنِ أَرْطَاةَ أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ؓ كَانَ يَقُولُ

لَأَنْ أَقْضِيَ يَوْمًا وَأُوَافِقَ فِيهِ الْحَقَّ وَالْعَدْلَ أَحَبُّ إِلِيَّ مِنْ غَزْوِ سَنَةٍ أَوْ قَالَ مِائَةِ يَوْمٍ رَفَعَهُ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ مُنْقَطِعًا وَإِنَّمَا يُرْوَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ
