[Machine] He used to proclaim in the morning and say: "Life is upon the best of deeds." So the Prophet ﷺ commanded him to replace it with the prayer, which is better than sleep and leaving the proclamation of "Life is upon the best of deeds". The sheikh said, "And this phrase has not been confirmed from the Prophet ﷺ in what he taught Bilal and Abu Mahzura. And we dislike adding to it. And with Allah is success."
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُنَادِي بِالصُّبْحِ فَيَقُولُ حِيَّ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْعَمَلِ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ مَكَانَهَا الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ وَتَرْكَ حِيَّ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْعَمَلِ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَهَذِهِ اللفظةُ لَمْ تَثْبُتْ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِيمَا عَلَّمَ بِلَالًا وَأَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ وَنَحْنُ نَكْرَهُ الزِّيَادَةَ فِيهِ وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ
