[Machine] It was narrated that when the Prophet ﷺ sent Muadh to Yemen, he ordered him to take from every thirty cows one bull or one cow, from every forty cows one barren cow, and from every fifty cows one young male. They would be paid for with a dinar or its equivalent in clothing from the people of Makkah. It was narrated that Abu Dawood said in some copies: "This is a Munkar (rejected) Hadith. It was narrated to me from Ahmad that he used to strongly reject this Hadith." The Sheikh said: "The Munkar is the narration of Abu Muawiyah from Al-A’mash from Ibrahim from Masrooq from Muadh. As for the narration of Al-A’mash from Abu Wail from Masrooq, it is preserved and it was narrated by a group of people, including Sufyan Ath-Thawri, Shu’bah, Ma’mar, Jarir, Abu Awana, Yahya bin Saeed, and Hafs bin Ghiyath." Some of them narrated from Muadh and some of them said that when the Prophet ﷺ sent Muadh to Yemen or something similar. As for the Hadith of Al-A’mash from Ibrahim, the correct view is that it is as he narrated.
